Sea glass is created when different colors and kinds of glassware and bottles are thrown in the ocean. These bottles and glassware break down into pieces after many years of exposure to sea and sand. Eventually these pieces become smooth and collectible. All of the sea glass on this site is collected in Puerto Rico from various beaches. Puerto Rico is particularly known for its variety of colors. The most common colors are white, green and brown, of which there are many shades. On occasion I do carry some rare sea glass colors such as red, yellow, pink, purple and teal. Other colors that elsewhere are considered somewhat hard to find are light blue, cobalt blue, aqua blue and aqua green, but I have found them not to be so rare here in Puerto Rico.
