About the artist: Phaidra Manns, 39. I have been living in Puerto Rico with my husband since 2003. My twin sister, Sarine Laird, got me interested in collecting sea glass many years ago when she lived in Okinawa, Japan. I have collected sea glass in Okinawa, Washington State, Hawaii, Florida and of course Puerto Rico. I have been making jewelry since December 2004.

Resources: My main resource for sea glass has been from a book called Pure Sea Glass by Richard LaMotte. It is a fantastically well researched book, which any sea glass collector should have. It is a detailed summary of all sea glass colors and many of their origins. It also has a great section on antique bottle identification. There are also many sea glass jewelry sites out there which have been helpful. I learned how to wire wrap from a book called Creating Wire and Beaded Jewelry by Linda Jones. My drilled designs are all my own.
